sodium nitronate

also i sow here a topic about
NO2-CH2-OH

[ROH + K/NaOH --> R-OM
and []-OH ---> []-X , R-X ---> R-OM

First, I was attempting to make a joke. Granted, it was a lame joke. Second, it's customary to define an acronym <em>before</em> using it&mdash;something I rarely observe in the Energetic Materials (EM) sub-forum. Third, the Subject of a new Topic is not a place to be vague and ambiguous&mdash;particularly on a forum dealing with chemistry.

Addition of a base to a nitro compound would likely form the nitronate first.
