Oxygen balance and ratio effectiveness???


Would this ratio of 75/13/8/4 activated AN/NM/AL/Xylene or Toluol be oxygen balanced and most importantly effective?
more effective than example 70/23/7 AN/NM/AL or 75/25 and 60/40 AN/NM?

Im 99% sure this would be very cap sensitive and probably quite easy to detonate.

good question.. i suppose its hard to calculate it very well and theoretical may not always be as practical, why not make a few 50g tests?
i suppose you can try stuffing it in a balloon with a funnel if you are out of ideas for a neat compression design

There is also 75/18.5/2.5/4 but am i right in thinking that 75/13/8/4 would be better due to higher aluminium amount compared to 2.5% even though there is less NM?

Please don't use acronyms without first stating what the acronym stands for. I often find it extremely difficult to follow discussions on energetic materials when I am being flooded with so many acronyms I have no idea whats going on. You will find that people will be much more willing to help if you make sure everything in your post is clearly understood.

I take it you meant ammonium nitrate/nitromethane/aluminium (should be Al not AL)/toluene?

i had already stated what this means if you look at my first post
AN/NM/Al/Xylene or Toluol
ammonium nitrate/nitromethane/aluminium/then there's a choice of xylene or toluene since they have the same effect.

Apologies if i did not make this clear.

1)If you can't oxygen balance it, you shouldn't be doing it.
2)AN, fuel=s*it. NM and Al=something. You expect to add more s*it and get higher quality material???

I found both these ratios and others when i read Patent # 4,093,478 both ratios are reported to be set off with a #6 cap with "substantial brisance" I dont know about oxygen balance but according to this patent it dose work and it very much looks like it would too. But what im asking is would it be more effective than the common ratios that you normally see like 60/40 75/25 and other common AN/NM/Al ratios for example.

I just thought to throw some Al in to spice things up and also because the ratios didn't add up either :/
