Are there some catalyst for this reaction?

MgSO3 + S = MgS2O3.

This process takes several hours at boiling temperature and continuous agitation. There are some catalyst that can accelerate it.

Thank you.

No idea if this helps, but a link from a German site gave this: http://pubs.acs.org/doi/abs/10.1021/je00013a045

Personally I would have travelled the Magnesium chloride and sodium thiosulphate route, if you have either already.

The very nature of Random, Chance development precludes the existence of Order - strange that our organic and inorganic world is so well defined by precision and law. (me)

After several tests I could not separate the MgS2O3. I continue work in both ways.

Thank you for the link @CHRIS25.
