Does K2PtCl6 react with Fe3+, Fe2+, [Fe(CN)6]4-, [Fe(CN)6]3-, or Fe4[Fe(CN)6]3, to obtain the reduced Pt ? Why? What’s the reaction formula? Thanks

It could react with any iron in the +2 state for sure. It is a pretty strong oxidizing agent.

[PtCl6]<sup>2-</sup> + 4Fe<sup>2+</sup> ----> Pt + 4Fe<sup>3+</sup> + 6Cl<sup>-</sup>


[PtCl6]<sup>2-</sup> + 4[Fe(CN)6]<sup>4-</sup> ----> Pt + 4[Fe(CN)6]<sup>3-</sup> + 6Cl<sup>-</sup>

It is harder to oxidizie Fe3+ ions further without a stronger oxidizing agent.
