Question


Which condensation products of acetone can form a brown precipiate with H2O2 and acid (vinegar in this case)?

What happened was an orange solution from acetone and NaOH was treated with vinegar till acidic, and then 3% H2O2 was added. A dark brown precipitate slowly formed.

I have no clue. But it might be interesting to take several grams outside and hit it with a hammer.
