How to download (pdf) books for free without using google search?


Is there some secret website which keeps all books, for which we normally should pay.
One that doesn't shares it's contents with google search, because i couldn't find any book I want on Google (I know how to use Google, but all sites it scans so far are not giving any results). I feel there is some trick.

For example books:
The Golden Book of Wild Animal Pets
Nancy Drew
and old encyclopedias, similar to golden book of chem experiments...

The only one I found using Google is CRC Handbook of Chemistry and Physics 96th (2016), but using torrent only, and it had no bookmarks (index), so I had to scan it all with eyes and write in separate file. Here's index if someone is curious, or wants to download from torrent (comes as 2 files):

As for where to find books try doing a web search on sites sued by elsevier.

Copyrights and Patents, are not universally recognized. Different countries, have different laws. I agree, that authors, inventors, industrialists and publishers.....should be paid for their efforts.

At any rate, depending.....making a single copy, for your own reference, can often be considered....Fair Use.

Personally, I am irritated with current U.S. Copyright Law. It is oppressive. During most of America's history, the copyright duration was 56 years. Twenty-eight years x 2. Alas, Massive Corporations lobbied our congress to extend the copyright duration, and now, it seems almost infinite.

Folk songs, that are close to 100 years old, are still under copyright. So.....when you go to the local coffee shop, for the open mic night, you might not hear any familiar old tunes. Gotta pay to play. Unless the tune was composed before 1922, it is perilous to perform it. Could be sued.
