I have a pound of Hg at present on my bookshelf here and several pounds of Na from gallium on the same bookshelf. Gallium is a good place to source, they called me personally to cancel a concern I had on an element storage.

Got 1 kg virgin liquid Hg for 69,89€ at my now favourite drugstore/chem provider in Liège (Luik, Lüttich) Belgium.

You may also get decent prices if you have a dentist friend stil working with amalgams...harder and harder to find owing to environnemental concern of the European Union and because of increased use of resins and ceramic for dental decay (tooth caries) obliteration.

Buy either antique mercury tilt switches, snatch them up with they're renovating an old house, or just buy a whole bunch of tilt switches from China on ebay for free shipping, with amounts conveniently measured out and sealed in ampoules.

But for within US only. International is $100 extra, a real ripoff, like most US sellers on ebay.

That is why I prefer EU or Chinese sellers.

I didn't even know if you can legally ship Hg out of the country since 2013--I thought there was an export ban. I called up Bethlehem apparatus, because a customer of mine had some mercury needing retorted for precious metals content, and it's $45/lb to dispose of!

I guess they turn it back into cinnabar by codistillation with sulfur.
