Chlorination of Cresol Red Sodium Salt

I'm trying to convert the sulfonic acid group in cresol red sodium salt to a sulfonyl chloride group using the following procedure:

0.8g of Cresol Red Sodium Salt
60mL of Dichloromethane (Methylene Chloride)
8mL of pyridine

Add the 60mL of Dichloromethane and 8mL of pyridine to 0.8g of Cresol Red Sodium Salt.
Then place the mixture into a nitrogen purged dry box and add 1.6mL of Thionyl Chloride. I let the solution sit overnight.

At this point I would like to be able to recover the converted cresol red from the solvent/reaction mixture and react the sulfonyl chloride group with a primary amine group on another molecule. Can anyone offer any help on this?
