iPhone glitter cases recalled after causing chemical burns
http://www.bbc.com/news/technology-40803830
http://mashable.com/2017/08/02/glitter-iphone-case-chemical-...
At least one burn victim has "permanent scarring" and another "reported chemical burns and swelling to her leg, face, neck, chest, upper body and
hands."
What did they put in those glitter cases?

glycerin ?
Quote: | Pure glycerin can cause blisters on the skin. This is because pure glycerin is a humectant (a substance that helps in retaining water), thus drawing
water from your skin itself. |
Quote: | Some people might suffer from glycerin allergies, so its best to avoid products that contain glycerin. Itching, redness of skin and rashes are some of
common allergies that glycerin causes. |

Quote: | I got some glycerin at Walmart today and started putting it on. As soon at it touched my skin it started burning really bad. It was so bad that I had
to rinse it off right away. |

I never had such severe reaction to glycerin, both anhydrous and slightly wet. This is the first time I hear this.

Glycerin is a common ingredient in skin care products (and a fairly common component of all living things).
Is there anything actually linking it to the original story?
