expanding hotplate/stirrer surface?

i have a hotplate stirrer combo that is 4x4 inches. Now ive recently ordered a 2L flat bottom flask and i am pondering whether the bottom of the 2L flask will fit on the 4x4 inch surface area of the hotplate/stirrer.

If it does not fit what should i do? Is there anyway to increase the surface area? because i do not want to risk breaking any glass.

Oil bath.

Not all chemicals are bad. Without chemicals such as hydrogen and oxygen, for example, there would be no way to make water, a vital ingredient in beer.

An aluminium or SS (non-magnetic) plate preferably circular and not to thick should do the trick too, or not?
But I suppose that a 2l FB will fit onto the device without problems.
