Chlorination of 2C-H using Sodium Hypochlorite (NaOCl)
Hello.
I have some 2C-H.HCl (2,5-dimethoxyphenethylamine.HCl) lying around waiting to get halogenated.
But since only 2C-C (4-chloro-2,5-dimethoxyphenethylamine) is legal where i'm located, i of course do not want to break the law, and thus are looking
for a way to para-chlorinate the aromate.
I have 15% NaOCl (aq), and i've found some references (not for 2C-H though), but i'm not sure which solvent to use.
Some claims a slightly basic aqeous solution, other uses GAA (just like Shulgin brominates 2C-H to 2C-B).
Any idea which solvent to use and any other catalysts or reagents besides NaOCl?
Should i isolate the 2C-H freebase, or use the HCl-salt directly?
Thanks!
