Varian VacIon Pump

About 6months ago i picked up a Varian VacIon pump Model 912-7000 from a scrap yard, it had never been used before and still hasn't and i imagine never will be (i guess they weren't making many cos the serial number is 572).
I took it off their hands because i thought there might be some nice metals within it. I have emailed the dicks at Varian thrice and no response, their downloadable pdf manual's don't list this baby. Its a big heavy sucker, i can only just lift it.

Any one with any idea's/info, i've had it open and as imagined its a big polished stainless chamber with a huge set of plates bolted to the potential difference. The flange onto it has 26 bolts for a 100mm opening!!!

i love stuff like this.
