Introduction

Having recently joined the forum, I thought I would start off by briefly introducing myself.

I am a current PhD student from South Africa with research interests in isotope geochemistry. After having looked around some of the sub-fora and discussions over the past couple of days, I became eager to join-in and register as a member of this community. While it might take me a little while to get used to the dynamics of this forum, I hope to be an active and involved member.

Regards,
cloud

Welcome to scimad cloud! Always good to have more PhD students and people with a real degree here.
A lot of us (myself included) are in high school still.

Welcome-

Take a look at the FAQ, it should help you understand the local culture.

Rapopart’s Rules for critical commentary:

1. Attempt to re-express your target’s position so clearly, vividly and fairly that your target says: “Thanks, I wish I’d thought of putting it that way.”
2. List any points of agreement (especially if they are not matters of general or widespread agreement).
3. Mention anything you have learned from your target.
4. Only then are you permitted to say so much as a word of rebuttal or criticism.

Anatol Rapoport was a Russian-born American mathematical psychologist (1911-2007).

Welcome.

We haven't got much on that subject here. Please post in 'Chemistry in General'. It will get higher exposure there.

Depending on what you're looking at, cloud, Radiochemistry might work as well.

At the end of the day, simulating atoms doesn't beat working with the real things...

From one new member to another, pull up a chair.

It's a great site. None of my old hats fit anymore.

They tried to have me "put to sleep" so I came back to return the favor.

Welcome to the forum! Geochemistry is not something I ever studied in school to any real extent, so it'll be great to be able to learn some from an expert candidate in the field!

Strange, he posted once three months ago and hasn't said a thing ever since.
