1 yr old DPPE-1 left exposed on filter paper still fires fine.
I made some ETT (Ethylenediamine DABCO tetraperchlorate) as mentioned above to test its sensitivity. Its preparation went the same as described in the
lit, the claim of half as sensitive as PETN as published, is false, it's actually a bit more than twice as sensitive as PETN. It fires at a drop of
48mm of a 1025 g weight placing it slightly more sensitive than NAP and same as the bromate (NAB) so well into the primary explosive range. It can be
made to fire by the friction of grinding between a hammer face and steel anvil.

Did you observe a slight discoloration (very pale yellowish)? I have also a few gram dry dppe-1 on filter paper exposed to +30 degree centigrade in
the summer, followed by almost zero degree in the winter, always with indirect sunlight (two meters away from a window) to check long-term storage
ability.
Maybe the discoloration is also a matter of not stoichometrical addition of reagents. I´ve synthesized serveral small batches (between one and two
grams) with inconsistent results. I´ve used always the same precursor batches and no better idea.
If perfect dry, even milligram quantities always detonate (like silver azide or lead azide) without any confinement.

Yes, it had turned yellowish-beige however the filtrate turned everything black so I cannot say if it's just residual reaction liquor or the DPPE-1
itself discolouring.
